Welcome to the Maintenance Xperience Website information page on sjap.nl.

Within KLM intranet a website is launched for sharing maintenance experience for the aircraft types they handle mostly: B777, B747, B737 and A330. The site is called Maintenance Xperience.

The purpose of showing you this site on sjap.nl, which is only for B737 maintenance experience exchange,  is to let the world know a similar idea is started within an airline, and it may grow worldwide on the internet if it is succesfull and well known within the airline industry. Especially 777, 747 and A330 experience is wanted now to make it a succesfull plan.

In a time of economic setback it is more important than ever before to work more efficiently, to share knowledge and thereby to help save costs.

There is a lot of practical knowledge available in aircraft maintenance. A lot of employees have gathered a lot of knowledge through the course of time. This enables them to perform certain jobs more efficiently. This knowledge however is often not shared with others. Colleagues who don't have this specific knowledge therefore can take longer to perform certain jobs.

Within KLM there was no knowledge database site available for trades such as Mechanics, Sheetmetal work and Cabin. The Avionics tradegroup in Hangar 10 however started a project a few years ago called "Avionet" and shared a lot of modification info, handy tools and links. With their experience they helped us to create this site.

The website is one of the results that came out of the project -work smarter- and is all about sharing knowledge for the entire aircraft maintenance department and for all trades. The database of the site is filled with all kinds of examples with easy to read text and illustrated by clear images. This saves a lot of time and therefore money.

Advantages of sharing knowledge:

- More and more companies realise that the knowledge of professionals working within their organisation is the key for success. To grow faster it is essential to use this knowledge effectively.

- By sharing knowledge the efficiency within the organisation can be significantly increased.

- Technicians are always looking for a practical solution to a problem but therefore previous solutions are forgotten / ignored.

- Technicians always try to visualize. This site is going to visualize practical examples.

- Because knowledge is shared, savings on time and material can be huge.

- Also the Operations Control Center (OCC) can use these practical tips for troubleshooting purposes.

Future :

The information found on the site is limited at this time but will grow in the future.  The site is now only accessable from within KLM's intranet. But 777, 747 and A330 technicians from all over the world are invited to contact them to share their experiences. Maybe a similar forum, like sjap's 737 forum, may be openened soon for the 777, 747 and A330 community on the internet.

Come back regularly on this site to check for updates and news about maintenance Xperience.
