ATA 53    Fuselage

Short time ago another type of tape is used to tape off the dry area of cabinfloors.(the black tape). The p/n is M20519-4. It is possible the manual states another type, the Mylar tape.

When you have to inspect a fuselage lapjoint or butt joint because of SB 737-53A1262, finding scribe marks can be a very difficult job. If magnified, the whole fuselage looks like there are scribelines everywhere. Therefore always use the magnifying glass as recommended and use an optical micrometer to ensure you find real scribe marks. Some pictures are made to help you recognize scribe marks and to see how it looks like through an optical micrometer. Photo's are made with a normal digital camera, not airline / company related. Use these picture for information only.

During general visual inspections in the airco bay or wheel well, pay attention to the fwd side of the wheel well / aft side of the airco bay, near the ram air exhaust vertical panels. At Station 663.75, these panels can be cracked between the rivets. See the pictures with examples of cracked panels at the LH and RH side.
